Different Ways of Walking
Polished steel, stainless steel inserts. 120cm, April 2005
Wlaking on a deserted beach and looking back at my footprints, I was thinking about the trajectories between beginnings and destinations, and how the manner of ones journey defines the experience. So I started taking irregular steps and jumps. The patterns left reminded me of the irregular protrusions of rocks poking up through the sand and their buried connections. Somehow these protrusions and my footsteps seemed to be analogous.
