Newfoundland
I actually made this in 2003, but I recently decided to paint some surfaces to give greater contrast. This piece is based on a real coastline off Newfoundland called Frobisher Bay. Captain Frobisher (doesn't his name just reek of the British Empire; cna't you see him on the deck of some weathered ship with his extravagant moustache and his tricorn hat?) was one of the first European explorers in the area, and a huge amount of land surrounding the bay is simply labelled 'terra incognita'. Beautiful. 125cm
