| The following galleries show work in rough chronological order following from Venn, which is the last work shown on the previous site (sculptures.freeserve.co.uk). I have been painting (acrylic over laquer ) some pieces and a few works have been adapted from their previous incarnations. 'Clouds', below, is a good example. I've been very excited with the painting and have had to restrain myself from overdoing it. Colour may come, but for now I'm happy to use the paint simply to accentuate tonal differences. Previously I have done this by heat-blueing the steel, but sometimes this has been impossible due to heat distortion, so the paint opens up new possiblities. |
